A Brisbane resident has been left startled after discovering CCTV vision of a would-be intruder holding what appears to be a gun as he tried to gain entry into the man’s home.
Leon Perkin took to a Facebook community page on Tuesday morning to warn neighbours about the intruder trying to gain entry to his Rocklea home.
Images shared to social media by Mr Perkin show the intruder using what appears to be a towel to cover his head and holding what he claims to be a gun.
“We had two intruders at 3:45am this morning in Marshall Rd and Freney St area,” Mr Perkins said in a post.
“One holding what appears to be a firearm.”
Mr Perkins said when the cameras alerted him to the unwelcome guests, he managed to use floodlights to scare off the intruders.
“They fled toward Kookaburra Park,” Mr Perkins said.
“QPS are aware and have been sent all footage. Stay safe everyone.”
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said no formal complaint has been made and was unable to confirm if the intruder had a firearm.
“Apparently the people were holding something but we don’t have enough to substantiate it was a firearm,” a spokeswoman said.
“Police have not received a formal complaint over alleged break and enter, on a property on Marshall Rd.”
