A man has died after his car crashed into a building following a reported “medical event” in Palm Cove.

A man has died after his car crashed into a building following a reported “medical event” in Palm Cove.

At 11.19am on Sunday, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said three crews were called to free a man trapped in a car that crashed into a building on Williams Esplanade at Palm Cove.

He said it appeared the man was the only occupant of the vehicle and crews were working to get access to an undercover carpark and using a handheld winch.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman on Sunday afternoon said the man had suffered a “medical event” and directed further inquiries to police.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the man had died and officers were investigating if it was the result of a medical incident.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
