The Far North is in a much-needed “breathing week” as the region has almost perfect days ahead of an impending wet season.
Bureau of Metrology metrologist Livio Regano said the week ahead would heat up and become “more like summer” as the week unfolded.
“It’s definitely hotter than the averages of November,” he said.
“More humidity and that will affect the night-time temperatures more than the day.”
Excited to enjoy a warm week, Far North siblings Alissa Ryan, 2, Jordan, 7, and Sara, 12, soaked up some sun out and about with their puppy Marley.
Temperatures on Tuesday will reach a top of 33 degrees and will remain basically the same throughout the rest of the week with only the Atherton Tablelands to expect possible storms for the next few days, Mr Regano said.
“In the longer term, we’re still in the thick of a strong La Nina pattern with the odds favouring a wetter-than-wet season,” he said.
“This is a breathing week as most of North Queensland has had more than average rain (over the past few months) and that trend will become stronger.”
