‘Mirror copy’ days of warm, dry Spring weather hit Cairns
Low humidity will take the edge off a week of warm Spring weather, but that could change as thunderstorms and warmer temperatures move across the state.

A glorious weekend of warm and dry Spring weather is in store for Cairns, but rising humidity could see conditions become more oppressive through next week.
Danny Teece-Johnson from the Bureau of Meteorology said the forecast was predicting slightly above average temperatures for the region.
“Overnight temperatures we’ve got lows of 23C, 24C, and getting up to 31C, 32C during the days.
“For the next few days the weather’s going to be pretty much a perfect mirror copy: partly cloudy conditions, and steady temperatures.”
The average temperatures for November sit at 22.3C lows and 30.8C highs.
Mr Teece-Johnson said the mercury was edging above those averages early in the month because of a high-pressure system around South Australia.
“That system down over The Bight is causing dryer and warmer conditions at the moment,” he said.
“We’ve got a change meandering across western Queensland that will hit late next week. That will drive up temperatures and humidity towards the end of the week.”
The weather system travelling from the west is carrying some shower and thunderstorm activity, but the bureau said it was unlikely to reach Cairns.
“We could see some storms midweek, but it’s just a slight to medium chance at this stage.”
Whether or not storms hit the coast, a jump in humidity would see “feels like” temperatures rise.
