Unlikely item you can score cheap at Bunnings

It’s famous for selling plants and hardware, but one finance influencer has revealed the home item you can expect to save big on at Bunnings.

We all want a clean home, but buying products for every room in the house can quickly get expensive – especially if you have a big house.

But one popular financial influencer claims there’s an unlikely shop that will hep you save on your cleaning supplies.

Queenie Tan is a Sydney-based TikToker who has more than 124,000 followers on the platform where she shares her tips on how to save money.

In a video this week Queenie says she buys her cleaning products from Bunnings, explaining it’s “because Bunnings sells good quality cleaning products in bulk for the fraction of the cost of supermarkets”.

Her video got over 182,000 views and hundreds of comments from people, many of whom said they too shopped at Bunnings for their cleaning supplies.

“I always tell people to go to Bunnings for that stuff! They never listen,” one person wrote.

“Their soap scrubbers are the best,” another said.

“It’s a trick because I always go to Bunnings to buy something and end up buying more than I intended,” one person joked.

But not everyone agreed with Queenie’s tip, with some people arguing there were still cheaper places to buy cleaning supplies, like the Reject Shop.

“Commercial cleaning shops are much cheaper than Bunnings,” one person said.

“Some things yes, some things no. I buy a lot of chlorine (bleach) as it’s super cheap from Bunnings but other stuff not always,” another commented.

“Cleaning vinegar is a rip-off at Bunnings buy it from the supermarket.”

“But vinegar at Bunnings is a lot more concentrated though. I was referring to the bulk cleaning products.”

Bunnings cleaning products have long attracted a cult following, with its grout spray and shower cleaner getting rave reviews on Facebook and TikTok where people have shared before and after results.

It also sells a 5-litre spray and wipe concentrate for around $27, with a Reddit user last year going viral for calculating that it would save you $2700 compared to just buying regular spray and wipe from the supermarket.
