A question from a tiny fan prompted Olympian Cate Campbell to dish on her sister Bronte’s most embarrassing moment and it’s every swimmer’s worst nightmare.

The four-time Olympian revealed her sister and fellow Olympian’s race faux pas to nine-year-old Annelies Ashmore in The Courier Mail’s online series, Tiny Edition after being asked if she had experienced any funny moments during a race.

“I’m pretty lucky in that I’m usually very well prepared … but my sister Bronte was swimming a race and her goggles came down and were hanging around her mouth so she was struggling to breathe,” she tells Annelies.

“She went to rip them off and ripped off her cap as well so she finished the race with no cap and no goggles and had to swim back and fish them off the bottom of the pool after her race.”

Annelies, a young swimmer herself, was adorably star struck as she interviewed the athlete saying she one day hopes to be an Olympian like Campbell.

The swimmer shared more surprising answers like the unexpected must-haves she keeps in her swimming bag, the feminist anthem that pumps her up before competitions and why she still gets crippled by nerves pre-race.

“You know those butterflies you get in your stomach, they come out of my stomach and into my hands and my hands start shaking,” says Campbell on her nerves.

“I have to take big deep breaths and remind myself this is fun even though I’m feeling really, really scared.”

Campbell is among the line-up of stars who have shared their stories throughout the series, where kids interview celebrities, with upcoming guests including siblings Amy and Emma Sheppard, Wally Lewis and Usman Khawaja.
