When we called on Queenslanders to nominate their perfect pooches for our cutest dog competition, we didn’t quite expect the incredible reaction that we’d receive.
Everybody loves a cute dog, but we were absolutely blown away by the amount of submissions in such a short period of time - with our inbox flooded by well over a thousand photos of the state’s cutest dogs in less than 12 hours.
Firstly, thank you Queensland for taking the time to nominate your doggos for this state-wide competition.
Because we were so overwhelmed with photos, we’ve created seven different galleries where you may potentially find your dog.
This is your one-stop-shop for everything cute - the ‘need-to-know’ about this year’s cutest dog competition.
Queensland’s cutest dog finalists
Tough decisions had to be made as we considered every adorable smile and picturesque pose, selecting just 85 finalists out of an original pool of over a thousand.
This gallery has everything from pups with big smiles, to a dog which at first glance appears to be feasting on three large servings of McDonald’s fries.
Once again, we’re calling on all Queenslanders to have their say as we look to crown the state’s cutest dog for 2022.

Puppies galore
These photos are bound to make you smile.
There’s a dog as young as eight-weeks-old in this gallery, while some others are only a couple of weeks older.
But of course, there’s plenty of joyful grins in this gallery which you won’t want to miss, with some young pups looking to have some fun – and maybe cause just a little bit of chaos!
Part 1: Small dog’s mega gallery
We had so many photos of small dogs flood our inbox we had to split these nominations into two mega-galleries.
There are just under 200 photos of some small canines across the two parts, but which of the two galleries if your favourite?
Part 2: Small dog’s mega gallery
If you’re having a ruff day or just want to see some more photos, then plenty more small dogs can be found here.
This gallery is well worth looking through, so let us know who you think the cutest doggo is from part two of the small dogs galleries.
Big dogs with even bigger personalities
If you’ve looked through the many photos of small dogs, or even if you’re just looking to see if your pet made the gallery, then you’ve come to the right place.
Big dogs appear to be some of the best family pets in all of Queensland, and some of these canines are among the 85 finalists as well.
This gallery has some fluffy dogs which are always adorable, as well as some great stories. It took rescuers a few days to catch one of these dogs, but he now appears to have well and truly found his true family.
Picture-perfect pugs
We had so many photos of pugs sent in that we decided that they deserved a gallery of their own.
There’s a great mix of pugs of all ages and sizes in these photos, but it’s their eyes which stand out in almost every photo.
They’re adorable, they’re excited, and they’re pugs – you don’t want to miss this one, Queensland!
Fashionable dogs in outfits
These pooches have dressed up for the occasion, and they’ve stood out by doing so.
This gallery has doggos dressed up in their best outfits, including a Chihuahua wearing a suit.
Wonderful working dogs
This gallery is something a little bit different.
These photos are of traditionally hard-working dogs such as border collies and cattle dogs.
But these photos are far from all work and no play, with these doggos having some of the biggest grins that you’ll see in any of the other galleries.
Even more dogs
Our final gallery is filled with photos of 113 doggos of all shapes and sizes.
If you haven’t seen your pet in any of the other galleries, there’s a chance that you may find them here.
