I bought Disney socks off Temu and what showed up left me in stitches

"I don't know how they got them so wrong."

Woman's Temu purchase doesn't meet Disney standards

A couple has been left in stitches after buying Disney-themed socks from Temu but receiving something that wasn’t quite what was advertised.

Mum Emilie Fernstrom and her husband, John, were getting ready for their family's first Disney trip when they came across a set of Disney socks from the Chinese-owned budget retailer and ordered them immediately.

They looked normal enough when they arrived, but some glaring typos quickly became known.

The hilarious Temu typos

“So, this is why you should never order products off Temu,” Emilie’s husband said in a clip on TikTok, which now has 12.5 million views, “because my wife tried to order some nice Disney socks and look at what came in the mail… it will look normal at first, but then you’ll see what’s wrong with it.”

They proceeded to hold up each pair of socks, which all feature a Disney character on the top and their respective names printed on the bottom.

“We have Chip, he’s so cute, right? But you take a flip and, oh, it’s ‘Chib’,” John laughs.

The next pair features one of Disney’s most iconic names, which is also misspelled.

“Oh look, there’s Mickey Mouse, but according to them, he’s ‘Mikey’,” narrates John.

“And then you’ve got his friend Minnie... but no, that’s ‘Mimnee.’

“Then we’ve got Donald, he actually looks pretty good. Yep, that’s definitely Donald, oh nope, that’s ‘Tonaid’. I don’t know how they got that one.”

Then, finally, they come to the Piglet socks, which has somehow turned into “Bigeet.”

“So yeah, maybe don’t trust Temu when ordering socks because that will come in the mail,” he concludes.

"Digney socks"

In the comments, people joined in on the joke, with some sharing their own hilarious experiences with Temu.

"Those are Digney socks," someone quipped.

"Low key disappointed cause I got this exact pack and all my names came spelled correctly! 🙄" another wrote.

"This is EXACTLY why you order from Temu. I bought Pepsi socks once and they came saying 'peepi'. They're my favourite,” said one.

And another follower added: "Suddenly, I need to buy these exact socks from Temu."

What is Temu?

Temu (pronounced tee-moo) is a Chinese-owned digital marketplace that is currently the number one free shopping app in the App Store and Google Play Store, beating other retail giants like Shein and Amazon.

Since its launch in late 2022, the app has surpassed a whopping 50 million downloads.

You can buy basically anything on the app, as there are tens of thousands of products sold by third-party sellers across 100 different categories.

Categories include women's and men’s clothing, home and kitchen, baby clothes, kid's fashion, beauty and health, jewellery, toys and electronics.

You can even buy power tools, musical instruments, accessories for your car, office and school supplies, mobile phones and everything in between.
