"It doesn't hurt to check it out."

$14 Big W item compared to $350 designer brand

However, as the post quickly went viral, people began theorising about the circumstances surrounding the abandoned perfumes.

The unexpected perfume find

The woman was walking in her suburb when she stumbled upon the high-end fragrance bottles haphazardly dumped on the curb outside someone’s house.

Taking to the Markdown Addicts Facebook group, she wrote: “Not a markdown related but just wanna share my small win and a tip that sometimes it doesn't hurt to check out some curb side pickups.”

Her haul included multiple gift boxes of J’adore Dior perfumes worth around $160 each, as well as a Miss Dior gift set containing a perfume and a hand cream costing over $200.

"You're kidding!"

“Wowwwwww,” one person exclaimed in the comments, while someone else simply asked,  “Whaaaaaat?”

“OMG! This is incredible!!!!” a third chimed in.

“What a score,” a fourth wrote, while a fifth added, “You’re kidding!”

“What in the hell!!! What suburb is this? Lol I’ll camp out front,” another bargain hunter joked.

Stolen, a break-up, or an influencer's unwanted haul?

However, others were more skeptical, with one group member asking, “Could it maybe be out of date? Hopefully, someone just didn’t like it or it reacted to their skin and you’ve gotten a win.”

“Maybe these were stolen and dumped...?” someone else questioned.

“What a score! The ONLY thing I would be careful of, is if they are genuine.

“Because fake perfumes can have nasty chemicals in them that cause burns/skin rashes/reactions... so I would just spot test first on your wrist or something,” one woman warned.

“Could be a breakup by the looks of it,” another viewer added.

“My guess is that it is an influencer’s free haul that they didn't want,” someone else suggested.
