Just when you thought Hammo couldn't get any better.
When you've got a $30 million budget, you know the result is going to be pretty spesh. Especially in the hands of a team with as many runs on the board as Hamilton Island. The new The Sundays development sits on the island's famous Catseye Beach with 59 rooms designed with families in mind.
There's a new beachside pool, restaurant/bar by the water, pickleball court so you can see what the fuss is all about and, as you'd expect views for days. Or should that be views for Whitsundays.
Only 30 per cent of Hamilton Island is developed and there are over 12kms of unspoiled nature trails and numerous secluded hideaways and beaches to explore. The Sundays continues to reflect this approach with the creative re-use of iconic resort facilities to minimise its footprint.
Details are still emerging but at this point we know that rooms will include either a balcony or a terrace and many rooms will be interconnecting. AKA ideal for your whole clan.
Aside from creating 100 full-time hospitality jobs in the region and being under three hours flight from most east coast cities, The Sundays slots in beside the island's existing property offering: luxury resort qualia, the boutique beachfront hotel, Beach Club and the family-friendly Reef View Hotel and Palm Bungalows.
It also adds to the current infrastructure of 20 casual and fine-dining restaurant options, 2 spas, and a 300+ berth marina and over 65 tours and activities.
Reservations for The Sundays are now open with rooms starting at $891 per night.
