Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will team up with Australian restaurant group QSR Foods to open 50 stores across the country, starting in Queensland.

The Dallas-based family-run barbecue franchise specialises in slow-smoked meats, including ribs and brisket, and sides such as mac ’n’ cheese and creamed spinach.

Taking on the first Aussie franchise will be a Cinnabon Australia director Richa Goyal, who plans to bring the offering to Brisbane mid next year at a yet-to-be-disclosed location.

“We couldn’t be prouder to bring the world’s largest barbecue restaurant to Australian soil with the opening of our first locations in Brisbane and Queensland next year,” Ms Goyal said.

The fast-casual concept has outlets in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Brazil, Georgia, Egypt and Pakistan, as well as more than 500 locations across America.
