“The main (focus) will be chicken but we’ll be doing deep-fried everything – prawn, dumpling, cheesy stick, vegetables,” co-owner Sean Hyun said.

In the kitchen will be chef and owner of popular Sunnybank Hills’ eatery Tok Tok Korean Cuisine, Jo, who will also offer a weekly changing specials menu featuring Korean and Japanese-inspired dishes that will run from stir-fried noodles and noodle soup to seafood pancakes.

Mr Hyun said the food has been designed to complement beer, with a variety of Korean, Japanese, Chinese and local craft brews available, alongside soju, sake, wine and cocktails.

And the old site will be barely recognisable, with a light and clean, industrial look transforming the space, including pale grey walls, timber detailing and mostly outdoor seating for up to 150 diners.

The venue will be open for lunch and dinner, with the kitchen cooking until midnight for late-night revellers or shift workers keen for something other than a burger or kebab.

FryDays hopes to lift the shutters on November 20.
