Hospitality young gun Joedy Kyle is continuing his passion for bringing Brisbane a great array of dining venues, with his fourth, Joedy’s by Sinclair, set to launch later this year in East Brisbane.
The entrepreneur behind Joedy’s in New Farm and Fortitude Valley’s Joedy’s By Eminence and Joedy’s Laneway Espresso, will expand on his usual breakfast and lunch offerings, with Sinclair to feature his first permanent dinner line-up.
While the venue will serve a replica menu of the New Farm operation by day, starring top-notch brunch-like options such as croissant eggs Benedict with pork belly, chilli scrambled eggs, gnocchi carbonara and nourish bowls; from lunchtime and into the evening the eatery will take on more pan-Asian flavours with a wine-friendly, share-style menu from executive chef Scotty Day.
Diners can expect everything from scallops with nori butter and caviar to charcoal bao buns with crispy pork belly, or kingfish ceviche with wasabi mayo, with Kyle continuing to focus on celebrating the best of local ingredients.
That same approach will flow over to the drinks list, where Kyle wants to feature only Australian wines to support the country’s economy.
“I just think Australia has some of the best wines in the world and we need to showcase it,” he said, favouring smaller, boutique wineries.
There will also be a collection of house cocktails to complement the food, local beers and myriad artisan Australian spirits.
The 68-seat venue will be light and bright, yet cosy and comfortable for those who want to relax during the day or feel more energy at night.
Sinclair is pushing for an October opening. In the meantime, Joedy’s By Eminence will transform into Joedy’s Express in the next few weeks, with a simpler, more grab-and-go-style menu targeted at the office workers above and nearby its McLachlan St location.
The new line up will focus on terrific toasties using fluffy white milk loaf with options like a tuna melt, four cheeses, and Southern-fried chicken; as well as healthy yet delicious salads and baguettes, in addition to its same great coffee. Eminence’s current rooftop function space will continue to operate as usual.
