The hospitality group behind some of Queensland’s biggest restaurants has welcomed a new chef to the fold.
Anyday Group, which owns Australia’s No.1 restaurant, Agnes in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, as well as hugely popular venues Same Same, Bianca, Honto, Los and Agnes Bakery also in the River City, has hired former Gerard’s Bistro head chef Adam Wolfers as group chef.
“I’m really excited about the new role as we share a really similar ethos in how restaurants should be,” Mr Wolfers said.
Coincidentally, the new gig will see Wolfers working underneath the chef he replaced in 2019 at Gerard’s in Fortitude Valley, Ben Williamson, who is now Anyday’s executive chef.
“I think it will be something very special as we both share the same beliefs as to how a kitchen should run and have a similar palate,” Mr Wolfers said about working with Mr Williamson.
“Food should taste delicious and utilising seasonal local produce should be the forefront.”
Mr Wolfers takes over the role from Andy Harmer, who has joined The Star, and will oversee all of the restaurants in the group, mentoring chefs, creating menus and implementing systems and structures for the operational side of the kitchens.
Before moving to Queensland in 2019, Wolfers trained at Sydney dining institutions Est. and Marque, before international stints in New York and the three-Michelin star Quique Dacosta Restaurante in Spain.
“Adam comes to us with a wealth of experience, both celebrated and broad-ranging,” Mr Williamson said.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing him into the Anyday fold and have no doubt he’ll boost the culinary experience at all our venues.”
