A popular Brisbane burger bar has slashed the prices on its meals, claiming increased competition has forced them to find new ways to attract diners.
Miss Kay’s, which has outlets in Springwood, Mitchelton and Birkdale, has dropped its prices by as much as 15 per cent, with their cheapest burgers now just $12.50.
“We are taking a different approach to try and tackle the increasingly competitive casual dining industry,” said Miss Kay’s Josh Rafferty.
“After so long and so many price rises in all aspects of Australians lives we made the decision that lower prices is what the community needs.”
The burger business announced the news this week on their social media, with almost 10,000 people loving the decision.
“After the hype around our latest TikTok we are optimistic that we have made the right move and that this is exactly what our community has been asking for,” said Mr Rafferty.
While other burger businesses, such as Grass Fed in South Brisbane, have been forced to close because of increasing costs of gas, electricity and ingredients, Mr Rafferty said Miss Kay’s had spent almost three months reviewing how they could save money to then pass those discounts on to customers.
“It’s definitely not easy and our margins have become even slimmer,” he said.
“At the moment though, delivering the best quality food and service we have to offer is at the top of our agenda, even if it means we will have a more difficult time turning a profit.”
The plan is for the price reductions to be permanent to encourage more people to be able to dine out more often.
