Located on level 23 of the Queen’s Wharf development, the Sky Deck will include restaurants and bars with all-day service.

Destination Brisbane Consortium Project Director Simon Crooks said 1500 people will be able to enjoy the 24-hour public space at any one time after its expected opening in early 2023.

“The Sky Deck will be the jewel in the crown at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane,” he said.

“It will be the hottest venue in town and the place to be seen when it opens in the first half of 2023.”

The first of the structural steel beams made in South East Queensland have now arrived on site and will be strand-jacked up to level 23 in just a few months time.

“The total weight of the first section is over 150 tonnes, 25 metres long with a depth of two metres,” said Mr Crooks.

“It will be strand-jacked up to level 23, which is a slow process, with the steel only moving millimetres per second during the lift. “

Heavy lifting specialists that worked on the Burj Khalifa in Dubai and Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands have been engaged to help the Sky Deck installation, with construction set to begin mid-year.
