Much-loved modern European bistro NOTA in Brisbane’s Paddington has just reopened after a glamorous expansion.

The neighbourhood eatery along Given Terrace took over the tenancy next door vacated by boutique Miss Henry, doubling its seating from a cosy 40, up to 80, with an additional 20 seats on the footpath outside.

“A big thing for us was functions and the expansion means we can accommodate up to 50 now (up from only 30),” said Sebastiaan de Kort, who owns the business with mate Kevin Docherty.

The enlargement of the Euro space with painted brick walls and wooden floors also means a bigger kitchen and new menu.

“We’ll be doing a lot more market-driven dishes with lots of veg and lots of snacks and small plates,” de Kort said, with the likes of ricotta-stuffed zucchini flowers and a weekly changing seafood dish served alongside the popular a la carte offering.

The wine list has also been significantly increased, thanks to a new 5m wine wall, with about 90 bottles now available from across Australia and Europe, including some fancy French drops under Coravin at $45 a glass.
