A KIND Brisbane restaurant owner is helping elderly residents overcome supermarket stock shortages.
Burger PL8 owner Michael Pulvirenti has teamed up with Prestige Meats to put together care packages of burger patties that he is giving away – and even delivering – free to elderly residents and people trapped in isolation.

Mr Pulvirenti said he had received more than 60 orders on the first day.
“I thought, ‘Oh my god, it’s sad and scary for the people who can’t get out’,” he said.
“Some of them would say, ‘You’ve got no idea how amazing this is, I’ve got no food, no meats’,”
“You can just hear it in their voice, they’re obviously going though something very hard.”
Burger PL8 has endured trouble of its own with coronavirus restrictions causing dwindling trade across the Australian hospitality industry.
“We’ve cut back on our hours … my business has reduced by 36 per cent to be exact,” Mr Pulvirenti said.
“But this is a time where you have to give.”
Mr Pulvirenti said he hoped this simple act of kindness would feed a larger desire to give.
“I’ll be contacting the (meat) suppliers … we’re hoping to drop off another round of patties next week,” he said.
“It would be great to see from this that some other businesses would jump on board and do something as well. If you can give then give … do one good act of kindness.
“If everyone did that how good would our world be, especially in these bloody crazy times.”
