Real beer v craft beer taste test

Some of the state’s top hospitality operators have teamed up with a former Stone & Wood beer guru to launch an exciting new brewery and restaurant.

The brewery is the work of GC restaurant and bar gurus Scott Imlach and Simone Tunbridge (Hideaway Kitchen & Bar, Bine Bar & Dining, Mr Hizola’s, Nightjar, Nightcap, and The Backyard Café), builder and co-owner of Nightjar, Nightcap and Mr Hizola’s Michael Craighead, Stone & Wood former brewer Jeremy James and accounting super star Tom Welch.

The industrial-style brewery will make all beers on-site, including a rice lager, XPA, hazy IPA, American Pale Ale collab with Red Earth Brewery and a collaboration with the Gold Coast’s Black Hops. There will be up to 16 different beers on tap at once, including a rotating list of guest beers from local brewers.

Precinct will also have a full bar with a boutique wine list, cocktails, spirits and seltzer, focusing on Australian labels.

The beer will only be sold on premises, with punters able to pick up cans or a growler to take home.

While the 100-seater restaurant will be a casual place to hang out with a mix of high and low tables, old church pews right next to the fermenters and beer-friendly bites such as Italian pizza and snacks including zucchini chips, fried chicken and bao.

The Christine Ave venue will operate from 4pm-10 on weekdays and 11am to midnight on weekends.
