Crust Pizza is giving away 9000 of their brand-new Piadinas, or pizza sandwiches, in recognition of the day they have dubbed the Nation's Biggest Hangover.

One of Australia’s top pizza franchises has announced they will be giving away 9000 free pizzas this Friday, to help ease Christmas party regret.

Research recently commissioned by Crust Pizza, in celebration of their new “hangover-approved” lunch piadinas, or “pizza sandwiches”, has shown that the majority of silly season festivities, including office Christmas parties, will happen this week.

Piadinas are an Italian street food made up of hand-folded dough, stuffed with fresh fillings.

Crust Pizza has dubbed this Friday as the day Australia will suffer a case of the “Nation’s Biggest Hangover” after research showed that over 30 per cent of those attending festivities expect to be hungover the following day.

Marketing Manager at Crust Pizza, Zak Marr, said that piadinas were the perfect hangover cure, with flavours like beef brisket dip, pepperoni caprese and Sicilian chicken.

“We’re prepared to put our money where our mouth is and give away thousands of free piadina’s to help cure the nation’s biggest hangover,” he said.

For those keen to score their free piadina this Friday, simply head to a local Crust Pizza store from midday and declare “I’m hungover”, to receive the freebie.

But, there is a catch, each individual store will only have 100 piadinas up for grab, so Crust recommends hungover revellers get in quick.
