Brisbane’s southside is set to become home to Australia’s largest Korean barbecue and hotpot restaurant, as a Victorian favourite launches its first interstate venue.
Taking over 800 sqm of neon-lit, Seoul-inspired space at Sunnybank’s Market Square precinct, Seoul Garden will offer guests a ‘dining experience like no other’ when it opens on December 12.
Guests can choose from an expansive all-you-can eat buffet, with more than 30 meat options, more than 50 hotpot variations and a dedicated raw bar, alongside other Korean specialties, before returning to their table and participating in the hands-on cooking of their own food.
Seoul Garden currently has four successful venues in Victoria - Docklands, Highpoint, Northland and Glen Waverley Century City - prompting co-founder David Loh to expand into Queensland’s Asian dining capital.
“Having a space that allows us to have Queensland’s largest Korean BBQ offering was appealing to us as a challenge and an opportunity,” he said.
“Sunnybank is also a very diverse suburb that celebrates international food and culture, which works for our core demographic offering.”
The brand focuses strongly on offering authentic Korean cuisine in a way that is accessible and affordable to guests, without compromising on experience or quality.
The dining experience at Seoul Garden will set diners back $49.90 for a full all-you-can-eat experience, and in celebration of the launch will also be offering $19.90 lunch buffets, including hot food along with some Gimbap, salads and sides.
Seoul Garden Sunnybank franchisee Blake Wang said the new venue was a stand out for dining in the state.
“There is nothing like Seoul Garden in Queensland,” he said.
“What we are creating here, is a dining experience like no other, that is not only great value but gives a true and authentic taste of Korean cuisine to the region.”
“I think the amount of food, the quality of the food and the experience for the price you pay will definitely be a surprise for our customers.”
“No other restaurant offers guests an unlimited selection of up to 24 cuts of meat at this price in the country, let alone the state.”
Mr Loh said his must-try dish on the menu was the ‘galbi jim’ or braised short ribs in a soy-based stock, that he described as a “traditional Korean dish that will have you going backs or seconds and thirds every time”.
Seoul Garden will be open on December 12.
