It’s been one of Noosa’s most well-known restaurants, now this waterfront dining establishment is set to reopen with a new name and concept.

Noosaville stalwart Thomas Corner Eatery is set to reopen next month with a new name and new concept.

The beloved waterfront restaurant, which was first launched by popular chef David Rayner in 2010 before being sold just as the pandemic hit in 2020 to businessman Nathan Beasley, will transform into Ricardos at Noosa.

Beasley decided it was time to take the former celebrity hangout in a new direction after a rough couple of years with Covid, delivering a more affordable, value-focused offering.

As such, he has teamed up with Jay Hodmain, owner of Ricardos Italiano in Hervey Bay, to bring the Italian concept down the coast, albeit with a few twists.

“It’s giving the locals, based on the feedback that we got, the food opportunity they’ve been asking for,” Beasley said.

The new venue will focus on seafood with an Italian flair, serving up a selection of pasta, pizza and keenly priced seafood platters using as much local produce as possible.

Wine will be carefully matched to the food, with about 50 bottles and plenty by the glass; while cocktails are set to be a star thanks to impressive contemporary techniques.

The tenancy will also be given a makeover, with black detailing inside contrasting again vibrant, lush greenery.

Ricardos is set to open at the beginning of February.
