A mysterious object in the sky on Tuesday night has residents in the Moreton Bay region talking, with multiple sightings over Rothwell, Morayfield, Caboolture and Delaneys Creek.
Speculation to the cause of the object was rife, with some suggesting it may have originated from space.
Beau Haywood asked in the North Lakes Community group whether anyone else managed to figure out what the strange object was.
Mr Haywood said that it moved very slowly and then a white light appeared, with it then falling to the ground.
A few people have said it may have something to do with Elon Musk’s Starlink, a broadband internet system that uses satellites.
“Elon just stopped in to fix my Starlink. Nothing to worry about guys,” Jay Roos said.
Pam Toohey suggested it was may have been a drone.
“Drone glinting in the sunset. Then turning on lights for landing,” she said.
Brad Pointon commented that it most likely was a plane.
“Sorry to burst ya bubble guys but it’s a plane. The height and it moving away from you rather than past you is why it looked to be travelling so slow and the huge white streak is the condensation from the engine exhaust vapour being hit by the setting sun.....rare but not uncommon sight,” he said.
