Dannii Minogue has revealed former mother-in-law Lady Sonia McMahon threatened to boycott her wedding.
Minogue married Julian McMahon, son of former prime minister Sir William McMahon and Lady Sonia, in 1994.
The pair met on the set of Home And Away.
However Minogue said Lady Sonia disapproved of her and never let her inside the McMahon family home.
On this Wednesday’s episode of Anh’s Brush With Fame on ABC TV Minogue calls the McMahon family “intimidating”.
“His family did not like me. There’s a certain social pecking order and I was definitely not in that scene. She (Sonia) only spoke to me a couple of times. She would not let me go to the family house. Sometimes (Julian) had to go and collect something and I was waiting in the car out the front. It was as if I’d done something wrong to the family but I hadn’t done anything wrong.”
Lady Sonia McMahon threatened to not attend the wedding, where Dannii’s sister Kylie was a bridesmaid.
“On the actual day of the wedding there was drama. (Lady Sonia) said she wasn’t going to show up, so that’s quite stressful. Julian and I were going ahead with the marriage regardless. So she did end up coming and was causing a scene … it wasn’t the greatest … it was hard. I just tried to stay away from it, I just wanted to enjoy the day.”
Minogue and McMahon split in 1995, after 18 months of marriage.
“The fault on both our parts was we shouldn’t have rushed into it,” Minogue said.
Lady Sonia McMahon died in 2010, McMahon is on his third marriage.
The singer stated she remains proud of posing for Playboy in October 1995, a few months after her marriage ended.

The fee paid off major debts she had accumulated, including paying for McMahon to launch his acting career in New York.
“It’s one shoot you do and then your problems are solved. Mum and dad did not want me to do it. They’re like ‘Once it’s done it’s done and you can never go back’. People might think ‘Oh Playboy, women are exploited’. I was in complete control of it.
“They’d offered me this amazing situation to sort out a problem I’d got myself into and I don’t regret it one bit. It was an amazing experience, I’m still happy with the photos today.”
