A fantastic movie set entirely inside a coffin. That’s right. A coffin. Nailed shut. Dirt compacted all around. Reynolds is the gentleman who has just woken up in there. There is a cigarette lighter to one side. A mobile phone to the other. And a limited air supply passing through his lungs. A high-concept thriller made on a low budget, this uniquely innovative experience will pummel you into claustrophobic submission.

Want to know the meaning of Life? Don’t ever let it in. And if you do happen to let it in ... don’t ever, ever let it out. This suspenseful and stomach-churning sci-fi thriller was slightly underrated upon release last year. Reynolds, Jake Gyllenhaal and Rebecca Ferguson are among those playing hide-and-seek with a mysterious interplanetary visitor to the International Space Station.
WOMAN IN GOLD (2015)

A courtroom drama proves to be a stately change of pace for Reynolds. This is the true story of Maria Altmann (Helen Mirren), whose family who lost their fortune to the Nazis in the 1930s. Among the possessions taken was artist Gustav Klimt’s priceless painting Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer. After joining forces with a rookie lawyer (Reynolds), Maria fights to reclaim the work for her clan.

When a Mafia-connected Vegas entertainer turns super-snitch, a ridiculously diverse array of hitmen (Reynolds prominent among them) form a disorderly queue to get him. In many ways, a story-free, IQ-deficient version of The Departed. Which is not necessarily a bad thing if mindless action and visceral visual panache form your idea of a perfect movie marriage. Definitely a mess, but a hugely happening one. Co-stars Ben Affleck.
MISSISSIPPI GRIND (2015)

Who would have thought Reynolds and Australia’s own Ben Mendelsohn would be such a dynamic screen duo? Mendo has the main role of Gerry, a down-and-out gambler looking high and low for a win that will never reveal itself. Joining forces with a card sharp (Reynolds) who is quicker and slicker whenever money is at stake, Gerry hits the open road to end his lifelong losing streak.
