Just one year after tying the knot, Married At First Sight (MAFS) star Davina Rankin has confirmed that she and her husband, Jaxon Manuel, have called it quits.
The reality TV sensation took to her Instagram account on Tuesday to share the sad news with her fans and followers.
“Relationships are hard,” Rankin wrote.
“I feel like I need to confirm that Jax and I have separated. I will at some point discuss this further, but my current focus is learning to navigate my new normal while providing a seamless and loving transition into co-parenting our daughter.”
The couple, who share a three-year-old daughter named Mila-Mae, have been at the centre of break-up rumours for weeks, with fans noticing that Rankin hadn‘t posted any photos with Manuel since August 2022 and no longer follows him on Instagram.
Additionally, Rankin shared a cryptic statement back in December about personal growth and listening to her heart, fuelling further speculation.
Despite this, the news comes as a surprise to many, as Rankin assured the Courier-Mail during an interview in April that the couple was “very much still married.”
She even joked about needing to post more pictures of Manuel to dispel divorce rumours.
“I should just probably put up more photos of him” she said.
Davina and Jaxon first over a decade ago, but rekindled their romance after her season of MAFS aired back in 2018.
The couple welcomed their daughter Mila-Mae in 2019 before exchanging vows in April 2022 at Plantation House in Duranbah, Northern New South Wales.
At the time, Rankin shared her excitement about marrying her “best friend” on Instagram, posting, “Here’s to a lifetime of loving you.”
Rankin rose to fame during Season 5 of MAFS, becoming one of the most controversial stars in the show’s history.
