Country music superstar Luke Combs has landed on the Gold Coast, igniting a wave of excitement among fans ahead of his highly anticipated Australian tour.
Arriving via private jet on Sunday, the multi-platinum artist wasted no time settling in, opting for a laid-back visit to a local coffee shop where he was spotted enjoying an iced coffee.
Combs, fresh off two sold-out performances at Auckland’s Eden Park, is set to make history as the first country music artist to headline a full stadium tour across Australia and New Zealand, kicking off the Australian leg of his landmark tour in Queensland.
The upcoming shows at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium on January 24 and 25 mark a staggering leap for the Nashville-born singer-songwriter.
His last Australian tour, in August 2023, saw him play a single sold-out show at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
Now, just 18 months later, Combs has quaddroupled his total Brisbane audience, selling out two nights at Suncorp stadium.
Tickets to Combs’ entire Australian and New Zealand tour sold out within minutes when they went on sale last September, leaving fans scrambling.
While official outlets and resale platforms like Ticketek Marketplace have no tickets left, diehard fans can still try their luck with Brisbane radio stations B105 and KIIS97.3, who are offering last-minute giveaways.
Local audiences have embraced Combs with open arms, with Brisbane and Sydney ranking among his top global streaming cities on Spotify.
His albums, including the 3x ARIA Platinum-certified This One’s For You and the 2x Platinum What You See Ain’t Always What You Get, have cemented his place as a household name in country music.
The country juggernaut is also celebrating the release of his latest album, Fathers & Sons, which dropped in June.
Joining Combs on his Australian tour are American country stars Jordan Davis and Mitchell Tenpenny, along with homegrown talent Lane Pittman, who also supported Combs during his 2023 tour.
After his Brisbane shows, Combs will head to Sydney for two performances at Accor Stadium, followed by another pair of sell-out shows at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.
