US country megastar Luke Combs has announced two highly anticipated shows at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium in January 2025.
This announcement comes after wildly successful 2023 Australian tour, which saw tickets snapped up in record time, leaving thousands of fans in an online battle for coveted spots likened to a “Hunger Games” frenzy.
Earlier this week, Combs teased his return by posting cryptic images of stadiums in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland on social media, sending fans into overdrive. Adding fuel to the fire, he also shared a video from his last Australian tour where he told fans, “I don’t know when I’m going to be back, but I’m going to be back.”
He dropped one final clue on Instagram on with a mysterious date and time in AEST, which fans now realise was the time of the official tour announcement.
True to his word, Combs will now headline two massive shows at Suncorp Stadium on January 24 and 25, making history as the first country artist to embark on a full stadium tour in Australia.
Combs’ hints and teasers caused a wave of speculation on TikTok and Instagram, with fans quickly piecing together the clues and bracing for the next ticket scramble.
One TikTok user humorously summed up the anticipation, saying, “Bring on the fight for tickets again!”
The North Carolina native’s rise has been nothing short of meteoric.
In just five years, Combs has gone from performing in intimate theatres to selling out stadiums worldwide. His Brisbane shows will feature a star-studded supporting line-up, including Jordan Davis, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Aussie country talent Lane Pittman, who also joined Combs on his 2023 tour.
Demand for tickets is expected to surpass even that of his previous tour, which saw pre-sale tickets disappear within minutes, leaving many fans frustrated.
The ticket sales kick off on Monday, September 23, with the Bootleggers presage, followed by the Frontier presage on Tuesday, September 24.
General public sales begin on Thursday, September 25 at 1pm local time.
Fans are bracing for a repeat of the chaos from 2023 when many were left ticketless after hours spent in online queues.
Resale tickets from that tour were fetching up to $700, and with expectations high for 2025, ticket platforms are preparing for another stampede.
The 2025 tour will see Combs play in Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne, with two dates in each city.
