AFTER months of keeping a low profile, Bachelor Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins let his hair down as he celebrated his first Melbourne Cup at Flemington. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the former rugby player.

THERE was a Honey Badger on the loose last night.

After months of keeping a low profile, Bachelor Nick ‘Honey Badger’ Cummins let his hair down as he celebrated his first Melbourne Cup at Flemington.

But it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the former rugby player on his first public outing since shocking the nation when he opted to stay single in the finale episode of the reality dating show.

The Telegraph understands Cummins opted to leave through a back exit of one of the marquees after an altercation with another patron.

“Nick didn’t do anything wrong, he was a really nice guy,” one onlooker said.

“The guy and his mate was hassling him over something and they got rough so security stepped in as a precaution and went out back. The other guys were kicked out.”

Later, Cummins rejoined the marquee and was spotted somersaulting into the Together Events Cup Day After Party at Crown.

“I’m having a great time. I’ve never been to Melbourne Cup before. I’ve always wanted to come down and see something similar,” he told The Daily Telegraph.

“Life is good. I have bounced back and I am feeling good.”

Cummins, 31, was a surprise last minute guest at the famed celebrity-filled Birdcage, lapping up the attention of female admirers.

He chatted to cricket great Glenn McGrath and posed for photographs with several females as he sported red lipstick marks on his cheek.

Earlier in the day, Cummins said he didn’t regret appearing on The Bachelor.

“I didn’t enjoy it a great deal but I don’t regret it because I learnt a lot.”

As for the future, and specifically his love life, Cummins said: “My love life is very low key, I am a bit gun shy mate, I am just hiding out.”
