As a young model, Sarah Stephens spent years being told she was too busty for fashion. Rather than give up, the 29-year-old instead embraced her curves and is now one of the most in-demand bikini and lingerie models.

High fashion is famous for making women feel bad about their curves — even the models themselves.
Australian Sarah Stephens has spent years being made to feel ashamed of her bust by designers and casting agents who told her she’d never succeed without a flatter chest.
Now, after 10 years in New York, she’s finally capitalising on her biggest assets, turning her back on high fashion and embracing lingerie and swimwear.
“I started out in the modelling industry doing high fashion shoots and a lot on the catwalk,” Stephens, 29 said.
“I don’t want to sound like poor me, but back in the day there was a lot of criticism about my shape.

“People told me I was never really right. People would say stuff that would make me feel really uncomfortable like: ‘Suck in your chest’,” she said.
“I would tape down my breasts often and was often told there was too much jiggling happening on the catwalk. I just felt so small and so alone.
“My body was different to the high end models. I know the high fashion world is trying to change a little bit and there have been some changes which I am happy about, but there is a long way to go.”
Stephens is now one of our most successful models, most recently landing a gig with lingerie giant Intimissimi.
“I have found my niche,” the Chic Model Management beauty said.
“It was about finding my niche. I wanted to model for brands that are all about embracing the female form.
“Me posting the shots I do on my social media sites is like a middle finger for all those people who shamed me,” she said.
