ACTOR Millie Bobby Brown slipped into Brisbane on Saturday to help launch a global Converse campaign aimed at young women at a suburban shopping centre.
The 15-year-old breakout star of Netflix series Stranger Things appeared at a private event at Converse’s Westfield Chermside store, in Brisbane's northern suburbs, on Saturday morning, where she met a group of competition winners as part of the brand’s new Love The Progress campaign.
Brown, who is in Queensland filming action flick Godzilla vs. Kong on the Gold Coast, shared photos and videos of her trip to her 18.3 million Instagram followers.
She also posted photos of her cuddling a koala, which she captioned “the love of my life”.
“I am in sunny Australia at the Converse store about to meet some young, powerful girls to show us what it means to be a girl in 2019,” Brown said in an Instagram video.
“The word girl should mean whatever you guys want it to mean and being your own individual is important to me.”
She added: “To me being a girl is powerful.
The Converse campaign encourages women to carve their own path and includes shoes designed by a female team, and featuring graphic prints with written messages.
Godzilla vs. Kong has been filming at Village Roadshow Studios since January and also stars Alexander Skarsgard, Julian Dennison and Kyle Chandler.
Skarsgard has also recently made a trip to Brisbane, visiting the Gallery of Modern Art at South Bank last month.
