Gold Coast influencer and motivational coach, Georgie Stevenson, has come under fire for her entitled 2024 ‘ins and outs’ list posted on Instagram.

The influencer’s list, part of a broader social media trend where users share their predictions, aspirations and recommendations for the new year, included items like reading fantasy books and setting intentions.

However, it was her mention of taking monthly trips that stirred controversy.

“Monthly trips (this changed my world in 2023),” Stevenson wrote on her Instagram list, with an island emoji.

The concept, while appealing, was criticised by her followers for being out of touch with the financial realities of many of her followers.

A notable reaction came from a commenter who wrote, “Monthly trips lmao,” pointing out the impracticality of such frequent travel for the average person.

This sentiment was echoed by the celebrity news and gossip Instagram account ‘Keeping Up With Aussie Influencers,’ which highlighted Stevenson’s suggestion as something beyond the reach of many.

“Georgie.. I would also love to have a monthly trip,” Keeping Up With Aussie Influencers post read.

The critique underscores a growing discourse on the disparity between the lifestyles promoted by influencers and the realities of their audience.

This isn’t the first time the 29-year-old has come under fire by followers for being ‘out of touch’.

The influencer was accused of “gloating” about her new quarter-of-a-million-dollar car, after she shared on TikTok in November that she’d purchased her “dream car”, a Porsche Taycan Turbo electric, which retails for over $250,000.

Stevenson also came under fire in September, labelled “ableist” and “dangerous” for saying on her wellness podcast, Rise & Conquer that she believes that ‘getting sick is a choice’, stating “I one hundred per cent believe this”.

Despite the recent controversy, Stevenson’s list has also garnered support, with followers expressing enthusiasm for her ‘ins’ and appreciating her perspective.

It included nutrition influencer Eli Brecher who praised Stevenson’s idea and endorsed the notion of regular travel.

“Yes to monthly trips, and all the ins!,” Brecher wrote.

Another commenter wrote “This is honestly the best one I’ve seen” in reference to Stevenson’s list.
