Nikki Osborne recalls ‘flirtatious’ meeting with Chris Hemsworth

Brisbane breakfast radio presenter Nikki Osborne has jokingly revealed she could have ended up as Mrs Hemsworth after what she called a “flirtatious” encounter, revealing the one thing she says stopped things going further.

Nova 106.9 breakfast presenter Nikki Osborne has jokingly revealed she could have ended up as Mrs Hemsworth, had her husband not “ruined” her chances with him.

In a segment aired this morning on the Ash, Luttsy and Nikki show, Osborne recalled meeting Chris Hemsworth at a charity event in Melbourne in the early 2000s, where she says the star appeared to be acting quite flirtatious with her.

Her fiance at the time, Jeremy Starr — now her husband — ultimately foiled her plans of finding a happily ever after with megastar, however.

Osborne recalls she and Hemsworth “sidled up” and had a “good old chat,” with her co-hosts, Ash and Luttsy, who referred to the future Hollywood star as the “top dog.”

“I think it was quite flirtatious. It felt like he was flirting with me,” she said.

“In my head, I’m going, ‘Oh, it’s just another Home and Away himbo (male bimbo)’.”

Prior to moving to the United States, Hemsworth had only starred in a few Aussie productions, including a cameo on Neighbours and a lengthy stint on Home and Away.

“He was the Home and Away heart-throb,” she said, describing Hemsworth at the time.

“I’m in a corner next to a pot plant. There’s no way out, I think there’s flirting going on.”

Talking about the thrill she must have had about speaking with Hemsworth, Osborne joked that she “wouldn’t kick him out of bed for farting”.

At the time, he told her about his acting aspirations and potential move to the US.

“I’m like, oh, good luck,” she said.

After he arrived at the event a little later, Osborne says Starr made a beeline towards her, dashing any chance of a romantic spark igniting with Hemsworth.

Despite joking that Starr “ruined” her chance with Hemsworth, she admitted she was, and still is, deeply in love with Starr.

“Now when we’re watching Thor or the Avengers or anything like that, I’m always saying it, kids, I could have had him. But your father ruined it,” she joked.
