Britney Spears reacts to her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s meth claims

The Toxic singer has hit back at reports her ex-husband set up an intervention for the troubled singer amid overdose fears.

Britney Spears has blasted reports claiming her ex-husband said she is “on meth”.

Kevin Federline is said to have made the allegation in an interview with a filmmaker making a documentary about the US pop star.

Spears, 41, took to Instagram to label the rumour “sad”.

“The fact that people are claiming things that are not true is so sad … This may not even be them saying such things because it doesn’t make any sense to me for them to be saying that,” she wrote.

Britney Spears has recently posted a series of erratic videos to social media.

Spears has two sons with Federline but apparently has not seen them for more than a year.

In the Instagram post, she said: “With Preston saying ‘she needs to listen to us before it’s too late’ … Do you remember every visit you came to my home, you went into your room and locked the door ??? I never saw you guys … Jayden played the piano and we made music together … But the day I told him I wanted to see you guys more, I never saw you again,” Spears continued.

“It makes me sad because I tried so hard to make things nice for you and it was never good enough. So you guys go behind my back and talk about me … it breaks my heart and the news is so low … l’ve always felt like the news bullies me.
“It’s sad because everyone sits back as if that’s ok to make up lies to that extent … Why am I told I have to sit back and rise above ??? When they all go so low ??? Hopefully it is just the news being hateful and Kevin nor Preston said any of those things.”

Spears married Federline in 2004 and divorced him two months after Jayden was born in 2007.

Kevin Federline says he is concerned about the star’s alleged drug abuse.

According to The Sun, Kevin Federline told documentary maker Daphne Barak: “I fear she’s on meth — I’ve been praying someone would make it public and that she wakes up.

“It’s terrifying. She is the mother of my boys.”

Writing for The Sun, Barak said Federline had allegedly set up an intervention in February “in a desperate attempt to save the singer from herself”.

Barak claims Federline told her: “I don’t want the boys to wake up one morning and find their mother has taken an overdose.”

In response to the story, Federline told TMZ, “It saddens our family that Daphne Barak and Erbil Gunasti have decided to fabricate lies and publish the heart ache our family has endured, along with the trauma of our minor children in the Daily Mail and The Sun. We did allow Daphne & Bill into our home because we trusted them, but that trust was lost and we severed ties back in March for many reasons we choose not to go into here.”

In 2021 Spears claimed she was forced to take mood stabiliser lithium while under her controversial conservatorship, which gave her father authority over her.

Federline still receives $60,000 in child support from Spears every month for the boys’ care.

Meanwhile, Spears’ husband Sam Asghari has given fans a look at previously unseen footage of his and Britney Spears’ wedding day to mark their first anniversary.

The Iranian-American model shared a photo of the couple holding up their left hands to show off their rings in a car and wrote: “Happy one year to me and my better half.”
