They will be opening their doors to the public on August 7-16, the days the Ekka would have been on had it not been for COVID-19.

The 10 days of events, organised by Destination Scenic Rim, include farm tours and animal feeding at a range of local properties, cooking classes, country markets, a high tea and a farm gate trail so everyone can fill their empty eskies before they head home.

Lucy Dunstan said she and her family would be there.

“Being from the Gold Coast we like to try and get to the Ekka most years,” she said.

“It’s such a shame it’s off this year but coming out here is great for the kids to experience farm life.
