What a wellbeing CEO puts on his plate each day
Chief executive Steve Terry, 54, shares his day on a plate.
6.15am Breakfast consists of three multigrain Weet-Bix with banana, raspberries, a seed and nut mix, and light soy milk. I also have an organic rice cake with avocado, boiled egg, chilli and hemp seeds. I always start the day with three black coffees.
7am During my workout I drink a big jug of protein powder.
8.45am I have another couple of cups of coffee, a peeled apple and a small handful of mixed nuts.
11am Lunch is brown toast with avocado, hemp seeds, vegetable patties, red capsicum, chilli, a fried egg and steamed vegetables.
3pm Organic Greek yoghurt with blueberries and raspberries.
6pm Dinner is oven-baked teriyaki and garlic chicken, steamed carrots and broccoli, mixed beans, quinoa and chilli.
8.30pm Swedish filmjölk yoghurt with blueberries and hemp seeds.
Dr Joanna McMillan says:
Top marks for … Pretty much everything! I doubt you need the protein powder since your meals and snacks all provide protein from a mix of both plant and animal foods.
If you keep eating like this you’ll … Give your body the nutrition it needs to help stay as healthy as possible as you age. You have an antioxidant- and nutrient-rich diet, which helps protect DNA and cells, plus plenty of protein and fibre.
Why don’t you try … Spreading your coffees over the morning, making sure you have no caffeine after about 2pm. Ensure you eat some fish at least twice a week.
