More institution than pizzeria, Pizza Bar has fast developed a loyal following courtesy of its buzzy bar, relaxed 'tude and rustic thin-based pizzas. Wine here flows as freely as the food: polenta chips topped with a smear of gorgonzola cream are a fitting prelude to the main event, where less is often more. Classic combos, such as prosciutto, bocconcini and anchovy oil, offer truer flavour than some of the more modern interpretations (like a slightly heavy topping of braised lamb shoulder). But jazzy Pizza Bar is more than the sum of its parts. Live music in the adjoining bar on weekends is a bonus.
