All vegan, gluten-free friendly, using all biodynamic products and with a mission to reduce youth homelessness, Melbourne Uni's new cafe is ticking a lot of boxes. Home.Two is the fourth social enterprise hospitality operation for Society Melbourne, which launched Crepes for Change four years ago, and Brunswick cafe Home.One two years ago.

The two-pronged approach sees youths at risk of homelessness trained in hospitality and, in partnership with programs run by Launch Housing and Melbourne City Mission, helped to find independent accommodation.

Launch Housing chief executive Bevan Warner says: "Since 2016, the partnership has supported more than 20 young people to gain security in housing, training and employment, and ultimately boost their confidence and independence."

Breathe Architecture has transformed a shipping container into the sleek slatted cafe, which is serving Wood and Co coffee from biodegradable cups and an entirely plant-based jaffle menu, from the cauliflower and cheese or nutella-banana versions to the "cheesburger". Warm toasties, good cause, can't lose.

Open Mon-Fri 7.30am-3.30pm.
