How Jason Daniel went from ‘loose kid’ to the Young Rich List
The LSKD founder always pushed boundaries as he built his activewear company. Now he’s chasing a $1 billion target.
Jason Daniel learnt to hustle early. His parents owned a plant nursery and as a teenager, he regularly helped his mum, Marisa, sell at the Sunday markets. He also was an aspiring BMX freestyle rider, having grown up on acreage in Logan, outside Brisbane. Known among his mates for having a willingness to try nearly anything, one weekend he tried to hit a double jump and was given the nickname of “loose kid” by some older riders. The name stuck.
LSKD, his fitness and apparel business – and a shortened version of that “loose kid” moniker – brings these formative experiences together. It began when, as a 15-year-old racing motocross, Daniel designed T-shirts and stickers, which his mum sold while watching him compete on weekends.
