Santiago | Mike Henry’s praise for doing business in Chile on Tuesday was probably more a sigh of relief than a declaration of love for the government of 37-year-old leftist president Gabriel Boric.

Because although the copper- and lithium-producing South American nation served the BHP CEO as a point of contrast with out-of-favour Queensland, Chile is hardly the Singapore of mining nations when it comes to taxation.
