BHP CEO blasts Qld coal royalties in premier’s backyard

BHP chief executive Mike Henry says Queensland compares unfavourably to Chile when it comes to “respectful” discussions about mining royalties, in a rebuke delivered in front of a home crowd in the resources-rich state.

But, in an escalation of the dispute between the mining major and the state, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk immediately rejected Mr Henry’s concerns, noting there was plenty of other inbound investment.
