Whakatane | The death toll in the eruption of the New Zealand volcano now stands at 16.
Authorities say two people who were being treated at hospitals have died. Police said one of the victims was being treated at Auckland's Middlemore Hospital and the other at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton.
