White House should stay out of Australian universities

The US risks shooting itself in the foot by forcing other countries to comply with Trump’s anti-DEI, America First ideology.

Australian universities are once again at risk of foreign influence, but this time it’s coming from an unanticipated source: the United States.

The Trump administration has issued a global questionnaire that requires researchers who collaborate with US federal agencies, in fields including foreign aid, medicine, vaccines and defence, to say whether a project or institution promotes “American influence, trust and reputation”.
