White House 'confusion' over Russia bounties hurts allies, says Bolton

Australia and other US allies should be pressing Donald Trump for a clarity over whether Russia paid terrorists bounty money to target troops in Afghanistan, Trump's former national security adviser said in an interview.

Washington | Australia and other US allies in Afghanistan should press Donald Trump over reports Russia offered Taliban-linked militants money to kill US troops, the President's former national security adviser John Bolton has suggested.

"We've got lots of allies in Afghanistan … whose troops are just as much at risk as ours are," Mr Bolton told The Australian Financial Review in an interview this week.
