Vance meets German far-right leader amid election interference claims
Munich | US Vice President J.D. Vance met on Friday (Saturday AEDT) in Munich with the leader of Germany’s far-right Alternative für Deutschland party (AfD), his office confirmed, after endorsing the party as a political partner – a stance Berlin dismissed as unwelcome election interference.
An official in Mr Vance’s office did not provide further details of the meeting but said that the vice president met with leaders of all of Germany’s major political parties, according to the pool report.
