The US is taking a harder approach to reaching vaccination targets, with some states handing out fines for not wearing a mask and demanding frequent testing for the unvaccinated.

At the Krispy Kreme in downtown Washington DC, Diamante Towell hands out about 100 free doughnuts a day to customers who can show they have been vaccinated.

“I would say about every second person who walks in is asking for a free doughnut,” Towell says, “And we have this running until December 31!”
