Washington | President Donald Trump on Tuesday (Wednesday AEDT) previewed his plans for a new visa program he was calling the gold card, describing it as “somewhat like a green card, but at a higher level of sophistication”.
Trump said the program launching in two weeks is a way of offering residency and a path to citizenship for investors who can pay about $US5 million ($7.9 million). The visa is a new avenue for legal immigration even as he carries out a sweeping crackdown on undocumented migrants.
