Trump still CPAC favourite as apathy grips America’s conservatives
Donald Trump might have had a bump in the polls, but conservatives are still at odds as to whom they want as next Republican presidential candidate.
National Harbour, Maryland | Scattered throughout the glittering, sequinned coats of Donald Trump fanatics at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) just south of Washington DC at the weekend, there were diehard voters roaming the halls searching for their next Republican leader.
Paying as much as $US7000 ($10,340) for premium tickets to the conference, the CPAC guests listened to Mr Trump present himself as the only Republican candidate with the legacy and experience to win the 2024 presidential election.
