Washington | President Donald Trump's refusal to concede the election entered a more dangerous phase as he stoked resistance and unrest among his supporters and continued to spread falsehoods aimed at undermining the integrity of the American voting system.

On Sunday (Monday AEDT), Mr Trump appeared to acknowledge for the first time that Joe Biden won the White House, but made it clear he would not concede and would keep trying to overturn the election result.
