Davos, Switzerland | US President Donald Trump has pledged to pressure Saudi Arabia and other oil-producing countries to “bring down the cost of oil”, saying this would drive down inflation and interest rates.

In a video link address on Thursday (Friday AEDT) to the World Economic Forum – the elite gathering of CEOs and politicians in the Swiss ski town of Davos – Mr Trump said the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries had prolonged both inflation and the Russia-Ukraine war by keeping prices high.
